Comic books incorporating real-life figures in their fiction might sound weird but it's been happening since the dawn of superhero comics. Classic issues of Superman and Captain America had them taking on Hitler, while one particular comic book from Marvel had the Saturday Night Live cast from the 70's or 80's. As weird as it is, this has been done before.
Still, seeing Marvel Comics advertise the appearance of Jimmy Kimmel in an issue of West Coast Avengers is going to weird out a lot of people. It might be so weird that people end up buying the issue just to see how the comedian interacts with this team of superheroes.

From what can be seen in the preview pages, Kimmel is actually interviewing the team on his talk show, which is kind of neat. Since this team of Avengers is operating in the West Coast, it sort of makes sense to have them involved with the Hollywood culture. Why Kate Bishop is embarrassed in the preview should also be amusing.

This series is currently only at its third issue and fans have enjoyed it for being a fairly light comic book that doesn't take itself too seriously. Some have argued that the comic can be a bit too light at times, robbing it of drama, but we'll see how other issues pan out. At the least, it is nice having a pure comedy comic from Marvel.
West Coast Avengers #4 comes out this November. The Jimmy Kimmel cover is the variant cover for the fourth issue.
