Evangeline Lilly visited her Marvel co-star, Jeremy Renner, at home after the latter's serious snowplough accident. She detailed the "intense" visit in a recent interview.
Jeremy Renner Is Mobile, Evangeline Lilly Says
The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actress was expecting the worse when she visited Renner at his home. However, she was surprised at what she found out. Renner was reportedly in a wheelchair, but his spirits were high.
"He has recovered like a mo-fo," she told Access.
"I walked in his house and got chicken skin, 'cause I was like, 'Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What's happening?' I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn't able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It's a miracle, a straight-up miracle."
Lilly, 43, who described Renner, 52, as a "legend," had nothing but praises for the Hawkeye star. According to Lilly, Renner is tough and recovering incredibly, and she was grateful to see him in better condition.
The pair recounted the 2008 movie The Hurt Locker, in which they starred together. Lilly said Renner was so young and full of verve at the time. He remembered herself very impressed with him. She joked that it was ironic that it was like she was the "celebrity cameo" because she was in the hit series Lost and she was like, "Who's this kid?"
They talked about a lot of things, and she admitted that some of the things he shared in his "near-death" experience stuck with her.
"He's got a journey to go through now," she said. "That's what nightmares are made out of, and he lived through it and he's on the other side now."
Jeremy Renner Responds To Chris Evans' Tweet About Him
Renner has been sharing some snaps amid his recovery on social media. The Avengers star shared a snap during one of his therapy sessions.
He said he has over 30 broken bones, but they will mend and grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends. He also thanked everyone who sent him messages following the accident.
"That's one tough mf'er. Has anyone even checked on the snowcat???" the Captain America star wrote. "Sending so much love."
Renner was moved by his Avengers: Endgame co-star's message. He replied to Evans with "Love you brother... I did check on the snow cat, she needs fuel."
Many were happy seeing Renner getting in better shape following the serious injury. He had undergone two surgeries after the accident.
"It's great to see you have humor and taking the time to heal and be with family. Rehab is tough, but if a snow cat can't take you down, your physical therapy will be a piece of cake," Delina DeSanto commented.
"Sorry @chrishemsworth, Hawkeye is officially the strongest avenger. He's obviously indestructible," another user wrote while tagging Chris Hemsworth, who plays Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
