Jennifer Coolidge talked about her career comeback and dating at 63 in an interview with The Times. One of the topics that came up was her past messy relationships.

The comedic actress, known for her roles in Legally Blonde and American Pie, recalled being in her prime in the early 2000s. She admitted that she did not stay at the top for long because of her obsession with boys.

“I sabotaged myself, and I’d say this to any young person: when the wave comes, have the guts to stay on. I would beg people to, you know, blow off your wedding and take that job.”

Coolidge mentioned that she was depressed for a while, regretting how many career opportunities she let pass during that period.

“I wasted a lot of time — and that moment passes. And, God, if I could live my life over again, I wouldn’t have done what I did.”

Because she was confident that people were “interested” in working with her in the past, Coolidge admitted that she “dilly-dallied" in her career while pursuing men who, unfortunately, wanted “certain things in their life.”

“I was trying to have relationships with men who were unavailable, or there are guys out there who really hate women deep down, and I certainly dated them.”

Her last major movie role was in 2006, when she starred in For Your Consideration. After that, she noted getting "odd jobs" or playing "a lot of highly strung rich women."

Coolidge's role in the award-winning 2021 series The White Lotus, where she portrayed Tanya McQuoid, revived her career.

Coolidge, who is referred to by her fans as a national treasure, is currently single.

Now at 63, the actress told The Times that she feels like "a horse in the corral" who hasn’t had much luck finding a male horse she's compatible with.

"I feel like I need to go into some other corrals,” she added.

However, the Emmy winner revealed that starring as Tanya McQuoid in HBO's The White Lotus has changed her dating game.

“Even though I play a complete weirdo in White Lotus, cute guys come up to me. And this is far better than American Pie because people were really sad about Tanya falling off a boat,” she said, comparing her character in the HBO series, who was killed in Season 2, to her role as Stifler's mom in American Pie.

She also shared a story about the time she was in New Orleans when a man wearing "a T-shirt that his belly came out of, plus red cowboy boots" approached her and asked if she wanted to go out with him.

Coolidge was previously linked to Chris Kattan, Tom Mahoney, and Banks McClintock, but their romances were said to be short-lived.
