James Cameron's 1986 sequel, Aliens, had recently received the remastered 4K transfer treatment, amid the anticipated release of Alien: Romulus, and he wasn't going to let any form of criticism slide from his view.

James Cameron Claims Remastered Aliens Movie is How They Shot All Avatar Films

Considering that any self-proclaimed Alien franchise fan would want to binge-watch the first seven films before seeing Alien: Romulus in theaters, it makes sense to remaster each movie's HD quality for easier watching.

However, it appears not everyone is satisfied with how 1986's Aliens turned out.

"When people start reviewing your grain structure, they need to move out of mom's basement and meet somebody. Right? I'm serious." Cameron recently told THR, addressing fan complaints on how the image quality was not 'as high as they wanted it to be.' "I mean, are you f***ing kidding me?"

Cameron detailed how proud he is of the team he built, the team in charge of doing the 4K transfers, explaining, "I do all the color and density work. I look at every shot, every frame, and then the final transfer is done by a guy who has been with me [for years]."

The fact that not every fan was contented with the 4K upgrade for Aliens, which Cameron found astounding. "All the Avatar films are done that way," Cameron added, "Everything is done that way. Get a life, people, seriously."

To make matters worse, Cameron's other remastered classic was True Lies, which was heavily criticized for utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance its technical video quality.

"We recompose, shot by shot, going through the film, and I'm pretty serious about this," Cameron opened he doesn't let "just somebody else" work on remastering since he had a 'vivid memory' of the colors they fought for on set and in post for Aliens, True Lies and The Abyss.

"4K is sufficiently above the innate resolution of the photochemistry of that period. Are we going to do 8K? 12K?" Cameron then promised, "You're going to see the grain more clearly."
