Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will bring in an entirely different feel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with its martial arts theme and when Marvel Studios finally unveiled its first trailer a few months back, some fans couldn't help but be reminded of a certain martial arts icon, no other than Jackie Chan himself. To be fair, the brilliant minds behind the film have stated in the past that Shang-Chi's fight sequences are heavily inspired by some of Chan's legendary films.
If the project was made 20 years ago, there's no doubt that the martial arts film icon would be the favorite to take on the role, and honestly, he's the only candidate in my book. Now, if you're wondering how Chan would fare as Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a new video from popular deepfake creator stryder HD is making the rounds all over social media and it sees Jackie replace Simu as the titular Master of Kung-Fu. It's pretty darn impressive! Check it out here:

Truth be told, Jackie Chan joining the MCU is one of my personal fantasies and when you think about it, it's a casting move that has been way long overdue. It's quite baffling how Marvel Studios hasn't jumped the gun yet because Chan would be a welcome addition to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings given his status in the entertainment industry. That's not to say though that there's zero hope for him to join the franchise because it's almost safe to assume that a Shang-Chi sequel will happen.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on September 3, 2021
