ITZY recently had a victorious night at the Asia Artist Awards 2021. The all-female K-pop group won the Best Musician Award, alongside four other acts.
Apart from the latest feat that they had, fans are in celebration today because of another triumph. As it happens, one of the members is gearing up for a new project.AllKpop reported that Lia will participate in the official soundtrack for The Red Sleeve. This marks her first time to lend her voice for a show's OST.
About The OST
The news emerged earlier on Monday. Official reports confirmed that the official soundtrack will have the ITZY member in it, along with other South Korean artists, as well.
Aside from Lia, the OST will also feature the likes of Xia Junsu, Jeon Sang Keun, and Shum Gyu Seon under the second lineup.
Toon Studio, which is in charge of producing the drama’s official soundtrack, previously revealed the first lineup. It includes Wheein of MAMAMOO, Hwang Minhyun of NU’EST, Jeong Se Won, and Ben.
There is little information, however, regarding the overall production. Nevertheless, fans and viewers of the series are reportedly expecting the artists to “captivate” them with their voices.
The Red Sleeve and Its Success
Days prior to the announcement about the OST, as well as Lia of ITZY, The Red Sleeve made headlines due to its success. A separate report from AllKpop revealed that the show surpassed the 10% rating in viewership on Friday.
The episode reached a 10.7% rating, with the same average rate. It reportedly marked the first time in three years for an MBC mini-series to reach above 10%.
The Red Sleeve stars Lee Jun-Ho, Lee Se-Young, and Kang Hoon. The episodes drop every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m., KST.
ITZY Gears Up For Japanese Debut Album
Meanwhile, the four members of the K-pop group continue to prepare for their upcoming track collection.
ITZY will drop their first Japanese album, IT’z ITZY on December 22. It houses some of the group’s existing tracks in the Japanese version.
