IShowSpeed was caught off guard when he encountered a racist fan during his first visit to China.

While exploring Chengdu, a cosplayer stopped him and made controversial statements that were caught on camera, surprising his viewers online.

IShowSpeed Involved in Concerning Fan Interaction While Touring China

Darren Jason Watkins Jr., mostly known as IShowSpeed, visited China for the first time, and his fans have been tuning in to his IRL streams as he hops between iconic destinations in the land of the giants.

The popular streamer has been receiving positive feedback for his candid approach to trying various activities and sampling local cuisine.

His interactions with fans were mostly peaceful and wholesome. Well… mostly. During his IRL stream in Chengdu on March 31, a masked fan suddenly approached him and introduced herself in a way that took him by surprise.

“I am racist. I am a n****r killer,” the woman, who was cosplaying a character from Blue Archive, yelled excitedly.

“What?” was all the speechless streamer could say.

The fan continued, “I'm so sorry about that. I love your girlfriend because your girlfriend is white people. I love her.”

She kept apologizing while confirming to IShowSpeed that he had heard her correctly.

“What? Wait, I don't think you understand what you are saying. Do you speak English?”

She removed her mask and answered, “Yes, I am racist.”

At this point, IShowSpeed entered his car in disbelief and ended their conversation with:

“What? What the f**k? Bro, hell no, what the f**k? What is she saying? What!”

This controversial moment has sparked reactions from his viewers, ranging from confusion to anger.

Many netizens have also shared similar awkward and offensive racist experiences while visiting the country, which goes against IShowSpeed’s intention of showcasing China in a positive light.

Meanwhile, some commenters speculated that the woman who made those shocking remarks was the well-known Japanese cosplayer Chizu, also known as @ChizuCheese8, as she had been seen cosplaying a Blue Archive character.

However, Chizu responded to the backlash by stating that she was not the woman in the video, noting that she does not know or has never met IShowSpeed.

IShowSpeed’s Other Racist Encounters in China Involve a Chinese Man with Dreads, a Banana, and Monkey Sounds

IShowSpeed’s adventures in China while streaming live have garnered public attention, not just from his viewers but also from the people he encounters.

However, his streams have also attracted several stream snipers who have gone out of their way to be offensive in front of him, seemingly just to see his reaction.

While streaming on a subway in Beijing on March 26, a Chinese fan with dreadlocks greeted him and said, “I’m n***a. I’m real n***a,” after IShowSpeed noticed his hairstyle.

He has also heard the word “nèi ge” multiple times during his travels in the country. The Chinese word, which translates to “that,” was mentioned by his guide, leaving him visibly confused since it sounds similar to the N-word.

Adding to these bizarre encounters, IShowSpeed recently came across a group of men who handed him a KFC meal while he was in his car. When he opened the box, he found a banana inside, followed by monkey sounds from the person who gave it to him.

While these incidents have sparked concern and offense among many, some have speculated that they were staged. Intentional or not, IShowSpeed continues to handle these situations without resorting to serious or violent confrontation with those mocking his race.
