Dragon Ball Daima has been treating fans to some Dragon Ball Z nostalgia, with callbacks to the Saibamen given a twist through the creation of Majins Kuu and Duu, while also putting Supreme Kai Shin and Piccolo in the spotlight by revealing their origins.

Now, fans have pointed out the possibility of Vegito’s return, hinted at in previous episodes. Vegito is one of the most important characters in Dragon Ball Z, and since Daima picks up after the Buu Saga, his appearance in the new series is naturally anticipated. But will we also see a new kind of fusion that fits the show's world and themes?

Vegito is the result of a fusion between the two Saiyans, Goku and Vegeta, using Potara earrings, which are considered the most powerful method of fusion.

Interestingly, Dragon Ball Daima Episode 4 reveals that the demon realm offers a different and possibly more effective way to fuse. While resting at an inn, Goku discovers several bugs with beneficial effects, including Join Bugs that allow two people to temporarily fuse when each eats half — and he bought two.

With Vegito’s immense strength and his playful yet arrogant nature, reflecting the blend of Goku and Vegeta’s personalities, it’s no surprise that fans are eager to see him again in Daima.

Given Vegeta’s dislike for fusion, though, it may take an overwhelmingly strong opponent for him to agree to merge with Goku’s mind and body once again.

Vegeta first accepted fusion after learning that his family had been killed and his friends absorbed by Buu in Dragon Ball Z. In Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta hesitated to use the Potara earrings due to their supposed permanent effects, only to discover that this applies only to Supreme Kais.

Now that it’s been revealed that Buu has the ability to undo a Potara fusion, and that Shin has joined the Z-fighters in their journey to the demon realm, the possibility of Goku and Vegeta agreeing to fuse again with the earrings in Daima seems likely.

Or perhaps, with these circumstances and those Join Bugs in Goku’s pocket, a new kind of fusion could be unlocked!

Will a Triple Fusion Be Possible in Daima?

A triple fusion is a concept explored before in the Dragon Ball series, as Piccolo is permanently merged with two Namekians: Kami and Nail.

In Chapter 57 of the Dragon Ball Super manga, a three-way fusion occurs between three lady convicts while fighting Roshi, although it isn’t explained how they did it. It could be due to the fusion dance, as Toriyama confirmed in an interview that merging between more than two individuals, as Metamorans do, is also possible.

It remains unclear if the Join Bugs' effects carry the same power as the Potara Earrings. However, introducing new ideas and applying them to the demon realm lore is becoming part of Daima's approach.

A fusion involving Goku, Vegeta, and Shin or Piccolo could lead to a character with immeasurable strength. As the demon realm presents greater threats than anticipated, with massive creatures like Kraken attacking the Z-fighters and formidable new warriors like Majin Duu emerging, a fusion between two or three strong fighters might be exactly what they need.
