Josh Brolin has addressed his potential return as Thanos in Avengers: Doomsday amid the project being in production.
With Robert Downey Jr. returning and the multiversal storyline of the film, fans have been wondering whether there is room for the Mad Titan to return in the upcoming installment and if Brolin is open to reprise the role again. While the character has died, the multiversal aspect could pave the way for them to bring him back in some capacity.
Is Josh Brolin Open to Returning as Thanos in Avengers: Doomsday?

In a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Brolin was asked whether he is open to the possibility of returning as Thanos in Avengers: Doomsday.
Fortunately, he expressed his interest in reprising the role, and he is willing to fly to London immediately if he receives a call from the Russo Brothers to participate in the film.
"If they called me in London right now and said, ‘Let’s do this,’ I’d be like, ‘I’ll be there tomorrow,'" the actor said.
Brolin also expressed his confidence that the Russo Brothers will manage to pull off another great MCU movie.
"Of course, they’re gonna come up with something really fun. I mean, who knows? [Endgame] was a ten-year and a building kind of thing, and that was its own bookended deal, and I don’t know what they’re gonna do, but I’m sure it’ll be interesting," he said.
What to Expect in Avengers: Doomsday
Just like any other MCU film, the plot details regarding Avengers: Doomsday are still under wraps, but we can expect Doctor Doom to have a sizeable role.
The film has a super-sized cast led by Downey. Some of the core cast members in the Multiverse Saga are expected to return, including the main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*. Actors from the Fox X-Men movies are also making appearances.
The release date is currently scheduled for December 18, 2026. Production is ongoing, and it is expected to film back-to-back with Secret Wars.
