"The Family Guy feature film is something that’s still always in the back of my head. I’ve always had a pretty clear idea of what it’s going to be. It’s that arrow in the quiver that I keep for when everything else goes to s***. [Could that ever happen while the show is still on TV?] Oh, yeah."
MacFarlane continued, "I always kind of assume that if I have a really dismal professional failure, like I produce a movie or a show that just fails so badly, the only thing that can cleanse the palette of the audience is the Family Guy movie. That’s when I’ll do it."

What to Expect in Family Guy Season 25 and Stewie Spinoff Series
The 25th season of Family Guy is expected to premiere on Fox during the 2026-27 broadcast season, with the possibility of an early 2027 release. It will consist of 15 episodes.
Meanwhile, Fox and Hulu have given a two-season order for the Family Guy spinoff series titled Stewie. It is planned to premiere on Fox during the 2027-28 season, before it becomes available for streaming on Hulu the next day.
In the spinoff, after getting the boot from his old preschool, Stewie is forced to enroll in a new one that’s not exactly top-of-the-line. It’s attended by a handful of kids he doesn’t know, and a 75-year-old class turtle with a half-cocked theory on just about every subject.
Stewie’s miserable, the other kids are miserable, and even the turtle is miserable until Stewie begins rolling out his trusty array of devices to take them anywhere in space and time, turning every boring day at school into an insane and surreal adventure.
Stewie will not have any impact on Family Guy, since it will have its own world at a new school with new characters. The character will still be part of the parent series.
