Rebecca Ferguson recently addressed whether she will be returning as Lady Jessica in the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three.
One of the questions that fans have regarding the upcoming installment is the potential return of Ferguson as Lady Jessica, considering that the character was absent in the Messiah novel, which will be the basis of the third movie. There is still hope that she will be brought back in some capacity, even in a flashback or dream sequence.
Is Rebecca Ferguson Returning as Lady Jessica in Dune: Part Three?

In an interview with GamesRadar+, Ferguson was asked whether she would be returning as Lady Jessica in Dune: Part Three despite the character's absence in the novel.
She confirmed that she will be making a brief appearance in the upcoming third installment.
"Yeah! I am in it. Small. Dip in and out, because I'm not in the books. So I wasn't reckoning on it. Denis [Villeneuve] called me and was like, 'Why do I have a feeling you think you're not in the film?' And I was like, 'Because I'm not in the books?' And he was like, 'No, mate, I have a couple of scenes…'" the actress said.
While she was only on the set for one day, Ferguson was still relieved that she was able to participate in the film, as she doesn't want to feel any FOMO (fear of missing out).
"Very rarely do I get any more FOMO. I quite often am relieved to not be involved in things. I'm the one who comes in and leaves fast," she said.
"But I think [Dune] is the one... I walked onto set, and I saw [cinematographer] Linus Sandgren and Denis, and Timothée [Chalamet] was there. And it just rings close. I knew I was going to leave the next day, so there was a sadness to it. But I also know that the film is epic."
It remains unknown whether Lady Jessica's appearance in the upcoming film will be in a flashback or a dream/hallucination sequence.
What to Expect in Dune: Part Three
Dune: Part Three is the third entry in Denis Villeneuve's Dune trilogy. It will be based on Frank Herbert's second novel in the Dune series, Dune Messiah.
It was previously titled Dune: Messiah (like the novel) before it was retitled to "Dune: Part Three." Some of the sequences will be shot with IMAX cameras, promising breathtaking visuals and more epic scope for the new installment.
Aside from Chalamet and Ferguson, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, and Anya Taylor-Joy are expected to reprise their roles from the previous films. They are joined by Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke, who will play Paul and Chani's children. Robert Pattinson is also reportedly set to play the villain role of Scytale.
The film is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026. Filming is still ongoing in Budapest and Abu Dhabi.
