Hugh Jackman recently opened up about his future in the MCU and his advice on the next actor who might be playing the role of Wolverine.
After reprising his iconic mutant role in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been wondering whether Jackman will be staying as Wolverine in future MCU projects or if he will pass the baton to a younger actor. Marvel Studios has been working on a new X-Men movie, which prompted questions on whether it will feature a new version of Wolverine.
Is Hugh Jackman Staying as Wolverine in the MCU?

In an interview with PBS (via ComicBook.com), Jackman was asked whether he has plans to stay as Wolverine in future MCU projects.
He responded to the question by quoting a joke from Deadpool & Wolverine about him potentially playing the role until he is around 90 years old.
"I’m 57. I’m doing it till I’m 90. So, you know… I’ll do a little time capsule for them," the actor quipped.
However, when he was asked whether he had any advice for the younger actor who will be playing the next Wolverine, he decided not to give anything as he wants the next Wolverine actor to have his own take.
"I’m not going to say anything to whoever plays him, ’cause no one said anything to me, which I really am thrilled about. And I had not read the comics, so I was just coming to it fresh. And I learned a lot over the years," Jackman said.
"Of course I’ve got my own take, but it must be melding in with me in some way. I hope someone just comes in and does whatever the f*** they want and makes it their own."
Jackman did not tease in the interview whether he would be returning as Wolverine in the upcoming Avengers movie, where he is rumored to reprise his role once again.
What to Expect in the X-Men MCU Reboot

So far, plot details for the X-Men MCU reboot are still under wraps, and it is expected to take place sometime after Avengers: Secret Wars.
Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is currently attached to helm the project. Beef creator Lee Sung Jin and The Bear co-showrunner Joanna Calo are writing the screenplay.
Last year, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave a tease on what fans should expect from their reboot of the X-Men property.
"We had a great experience with him on Thunderbolts*. And if you saw that movie, what he did with those character interactions, he also has his pulse on, shall we say, a younger demographic," he said.
"He’s younger than me for sure, but he’s tapped into that in a way that I think was important for Thunderbolts*, much more important for X-Men. Because X-Men, as it was in the comics, will be a very youth-oriented, focused, and cast movie."
