Radio icon Howard Stern is reportedly unhappy with the rising fame of Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper, to the point that a SiriusXM executive has allegedly taken serious measures to keep them from running into each other.
Rumor has it that the radio legend can’t accept that the female podcaster—whom Time magazine described in 2021 as “arguably the most successful woman in podcasting” after signing a three-year exclusive deal with Spotify worth $60 million—is now one of the biggest stars on SiriusXM.
So, is it true that Stern has issues with Cooper?
Does Howard Stern Hate Alex Cooper?

Stern is reportedly uncomfortable and jealous of Cooper’s rising success and dominance on SiriusXM, prompting the satellite radio network’s bosses to keep them apart.
“Stern's hostility toward the 30-year-old podcasting sensation runs so deep that SiriusXM execs make sure the two don't cross paths when she's in New York,” a source told The Sun. “She's the one that bugs him.”
The insider added that the 71-year-old media personality hates that this 30-year-old “bubbly woman is the new big thing," getting “hundreds of millions of hits” and has landed a “mega $125 million deal.”
“That’s who they have to keep Howard away from when she comes to New York,” the tipster continued.
For starters, Cooper left Spotify after signing a massive deal with SiriusXM last year. As one of today’s most talented podcasters, the source alleged she’s “leaving old-school personalities like Stern in the dust.”
“It’s completely turned Howard’s world upside down. He’s been in radio for 40 years, and this change has really shocked everyone,” the insider added. “Alex and Joe Rogan, these massive podcasters, have traditional radio guys stunned.”
In addition to being a female, the source sees Cooper as “the next generation,” and is someone iHeartRadio is “desperately” looking for.
Who is Alex Cooper and Why is She Famous?

Cooper hosts one of today’s most successful podcasts, Call Her Daddy.
The show evolved from a sex-focused radio program to a “female locker-room talk” with a modern feminist twist.
Her tell-all interviews with Hollywood A-listers like Miley Cyrus, Chelsea Handler, John Mayer, Kelsea Ballerini, and fake heiress Anna Delvey have put her on the map.
Cooper signed a three-year deal with Spotify worth over $60 million—the platform’s largest exclusive deal for a female-led podcast.
She earns an estimated $20 million annually, making her the highest-paid female podcaster on Spotify and second only to Joe Rogan overall.
“A woman just got what in the past would've been a male contract,” she told the Los Angeles Times.
So far, neither Cooper nor Stern has commented on the rumored tensions. But as Stern is already an institution in the field, there may be no way that he will be insecure with Cooper.
