Apart from playing Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Evans has starred in various romance films – be it romantic comedies or heartfelt romances such as What’s Your Number?, Before We Go, and Playing It Cool.

With Ana de Armas, he’s worked with her in two films – Knives Out, a mystery film, and The Gray Man, an action thriller film. So what about their upcoming film, Ghosted? What’s the movie’s genre? Is Ghosted a romance?

Ghosted is an upcoming American romantic comedy action-adventure film. It’s about a boy who falls in love with a girl, only to find himself ghosted after.

With the film’s plot, we can say that it is a romance film. But it’s not a heartfelt romance movie or a romantic drama. It’s one that’s mixed with action and comedy.

In the movie, Chris Evans stars as Cole Riggan. He goes out on a date with a mysterious girl named Sadie. He instantly falls in love with her, and he even thinks that “she might be the one”.

And then one day, Sadie no longer communicates with him. At first, Cole gives reasons like maybe she just didn’t have an “international calling plan.”

Later on, he decides to pull off a grand romantic gesture by going to London to surprise her. However, Cole ends up being the one surprised as he finds out that Sadie actually works for the CIA. In his attempts to pursue the secret agent Sadie, Cole finds himself caught up in an international espionage ring.

Yup, it’s definitely a romance film as it involves a love story between the main characters. But while Chris Evans and Ana de Armas played serious roles in their prior films together, we’ll see them in a different light in Ghosted.

As Ghosted is described as a romantic comedy, expect to be laughing as well. And of course, expect some action in it too.

Chris Evans and Ana de Armas will be joined by Adrien Brody as Leveque, Mike Moh as Wagner, Tim Blake Nelson as Borislov, Marwan Kenzari as Marco, Anna Deavere Smith as Claudia Yates, Lizzie Broadway as Mattie, Mustafa Shakir as Monte Jackson, and Tiya Sircar as Patti.

Recently, Chris Evans revealed with Good Morning America that his upcoming movie has Marvel cameos in it.

"There are some cameos, that’s right. Can we give that away? I guess we can. We had some old Marvel buddies back, and I hate asking people for cameos – it’s the worst… if it fits into their schedules, I suppose, but these guys rose to the challenge and they were there for me – it was great," Evans said.

Scarlett Johansson, another Marvel star, was supposed to star in Ghosted as Sadie, but she had to leave the role due to a scheduling conflict. But at least we’ll be having some Marvel cameos, as Evans teased.
