"We are very pleased with Cruella's box office success, in conjunction with its strong Disney+ Premier Access performance to date," a Disney spokesperson said at the time.
However, five years have passed, and the sequel has yet to see the light of day. That could soon change after director Craig Gillespie was asked whether fans would ever get to see Cruella 2.
"It's possible. That's going to be something else that's on the agenda," he told The Playlist.
Back in February, The DisInsider reported that "the odds are good," adding that "the creatives and talent want to do it," and Disney is also eager to move forward with the sequel.

In addition, as Emma Stone is expected to reprise her role, other familiar faces, including Joel Fry and Paul Walter Hauser, may also return as Jasper and Horace, alongside Mark Strong, who could continue overseeing Hell Hall.
This time around, Roger and Anita may also take on larger roles as the story moves closer to the timeline established in 101 Dalmatians.
