Chappell Roan recently shared that she is considering becoming an actress after a conversation with a legendary filmmaker.
We've seen for the past several years that some of the popular pop stars today have been venturing into acting. Some fans have been wondering whether Roan will be the one who is taking the step next, and it looks like that might happen sooner rather than later.
Chappell Roan is Considering Becoming an Actress
In a recent interview with W Magazine, Roan revealed that she is now considering becoming an actress after an "insane" encounter with director John Waters.
"One of my idols! And I was talking about how there are only so many ‘firsts’ you can have with your career. And he said, ‘No, no, no — there are all the firsts to go through when you become an actress!" she said.
While Roan denied that she is a screen actress, Water continued to encourage the Grammy winner to she should consider jumping into acting.
She added, "‘Every singer is an actress!’ And I was like, okay, maybe I am! Damn! If John Waters says I’m an actress, maybe I am!"
Roan did not reveal what type of role or movie project she is interested in starring in, but this is an idea that her fans might be on board and it would be curious to see whether she will turn that into a reality soon.
Chappell Roan Was Previously Not Interested in Acting
In an interview with Bowen Yang last year, Roan shared that she was not interested in jumping into acting at that time.
"I say this with peace, and love, and blessings. Actors are f*cking crazy. Like, I get so freaked out by film people. I’ve been asked in the past couple of weeks, like, ‘You want the lead in XYZ?’ and I’m like, ‘No,'" she said.
"I originally started doing music because I wanted to get my foot in the door for acting, and then I moved to Los Angeles, and I was like, 'F*ck that,' The industry is legitimately so scary, and it is so out of my control."
Fortunately, it looks like Waters managed to convince her to change her tune on the possibility of entering that field.
