The Apple TV+ comedy series The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin is supposedly set to return with a season 2 following the solid performance of its first season last year.
The series follows Dick Turpin (played by Noel Fielding) as he sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde.

Unfortunately, season 2 of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has been scrapped while in the middle of production.
According to a report, Fielding did not return to work on the series after the Christmas break. Production for season 2 already began last fall.
The cast and crew were devastated by the news and were told that it was due to "the illness of a key cast member."
An insider cited in the report said: "They were understandably bewildered and infuriated by the bombshell because the shoe show required millions of pounds, months of planning and hours of work."
"It now effectively means that they are all out of work and looking for new jobs, but they still haven’t had a full explanation."
The report also claimed that Fielding is currently out of the country and believed to be "somewhere in France."
So far, Apple TV+ has not officially commented on the reports of the show's unexpected cancellation.
Can The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin Still Be Saved?
There are no plans to recast the role of Dick Turpin in the series as the decision to scrap the second season seems to be final.
According to another report, season 2 of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin "cannot be salvaged" and Big Talk Studios, the production company behind the series, has disbanded the cast and crew.
While Apple TV+ has not officially commented on the show's recent situation, none of the signs are indicating that it will continue in some capacity in the future and the project is done for good.
This is unfortunate news for fans who have been looking forward to the show continuing as it looks like it cannot be saved in any capacity.
