From one great superhero sequel to another, it looks like Netflix really wants its users to enjoy some Disney/Marvel content before Disney+ takes them all away. Not long after Ant-Man and The Wasp joined the streaming service, fans can now check out The Incredibles 2 and see if this sequel lives up to the hype. Some say it did while others say it didn't but if you haven't seen it yet, you can now do so.
Taking place moments after The Incredibles (more than a decade later for us though), the film has Elasti-Girl trying to recruit more heroes and take down threats while Mr. Incredible takes care of Jack-Jack. It's an interesting reversal of gender roles and just an interesting story of how difficult it can be to stay at home and take care of a baby.
Critics praised the sequel for its comedy, action, and family dynamics, though some felt that it took too long. Making sequels to movies that came out a decade or so ago is always risky, though animation tends to hold up better than live-action. Still, the fact that it has mostly positive reviews is a testament to its quality.
Incredibles 2 sees the return of the beloved Parr family as they struggle to find ways to use their super abilities. The film was written and directed by Brad Bird, just like the original Incredibles movie, and stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Catherine Keener, Bob Odenkirk, and Sophia Bush.
