Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for A Quiet Place Part II, the sequel to John Krasinski's horror hit, which features Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) and her family venturing away from home and discovering that the sound-detecting monsters aren't the only threat they have to face.

Krasinski, who played Lee Abbott, the father of the Abbott family in the first film, is returning to his behind-the-scenes role as director and co-writer. In the first film, Evelyn, her kids, and their new baby managed to survive thanks to Lee's sacrifice and the discoverythat Regan Abbott's (Millicent Simmons) hearing aid emitted a frequence that could temporarily paralyze the monsters, giving the Abbotts a fighting chance.

The trailer shows the Abotts venturing out into the world to find other survivors and hopefully band together. However, things might not go as they hoped since some of their fellow survivors —which include a survivalist played by Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou —may present a different threat to the family. The sequel will also flashback to the horrifying origins of the monsters, which may help unravel the mystery behind them.

Synopsis:

A Quiet Place II is set to release in theaters on March 20, 2020.
