There is no doubt that bringing Wolverine back to life was a powerful move for Deadpool and Wolverine. Thanks to Hugh Jackman's return, MCU fans have wanted one thing, and that is to officially have him rejoin full-time, past the threequel.

So, is it possible? Here's what we found out.

With Marvel Studios in the process of rebooting the X-Men and the world of mutants into the franchise, having Wolverine back on board again is the ideal next step, which reputable scooper Daniel Richtman revealed. According to Richtman, the studio is planning to keep Jackman for "more projects even after Secret Wars."

Guess what? This plays exactly how Wade Wilson joked about Disney's intention of embedding Jackman to play Logan "until he's 90" (which may or may not be an exaggeration, considering the number of times the MCU has brought back retired or dead characters).

Deadpool and Wolverine not only resolved their unfinished business with Logan's ending, but it also made use of the fact that this Logan is from an alternate universe, not the original icon fans know him to be.

After redeeming himself in the threequel's ending, he ought to stick around and see how far he's willing to go when facing new enemies and meeting his new comrades along the way.

If Marvel does plan on keeping Logan around past Secret Wars, then this also confirms another: Wolverine will survive the events of the upcoming Avengers movie. This is already a good sign, meaning the stakes are really left on Jackman's court, whether or not he chooses to keep playing the clawed mutant.

What remains to be seen for now is how much the MCU will use Wolverine. Apart from potentially becoming a part of the new Avengers team, we're looking at crossovers with the Fantastic Four and even most likely, "reuniting" with his own X-Men from Fox.

Similar to how the MCU usually plays off reunions, fans can totally see the Wolverine meeting more and more of his old pals on his journey and adapting to however this new universe treats him, so that'll be quite the sight to see.

Meanwhile, fans can expect Avengers: Doomsday to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Stay tuned for more updates.
