Hugh Jackman has finally recreated the infamous sad Wolverine meme in celebration of Deadpool & Wolverine's box office success in its opening weekend.

A lot of fans were happy to see the actor reprise his iconic mutant role in the new MCU film, especially since he is teaming up with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool in a multiversal adventure.

In the weeks leading up to its release, it was heavily predicted that the film would become a huge box-office success partially thanks to the titular heroes' team-up and the hype of seeing Jackman back as Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman Celebrates Deadpool & Wolverine Success by Recreating Iconic X-Men Meme

Deadpool & Wolverine has broken multiple box office records in its opening weekend, making it the current number-one movie in the world.

To celebrate the film's massive box office success, Hugh Jackman recreated the popular Wolverine meme in his recent social media post.

The meme, which was famously taken from the original X-Men: The Animated Series, sees a sad Wolverine lying down on a bed while crying at a framed picture of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

In Jackman's version, he is looking at a framed picture with the words "#1 Movie in the World."

Ryan Reynolds also released his version which sees Deadpool looking at the framed picture of Hugh Jackman recreating the meme.

According to reports, Deadpool & Wolverine grossed an estimated $205 million in its domestic opening weekend. It is now the biggest debut for an R-rated movie ever.

It broke a similar record in its global debut as it managed to gross $438.3 million. It is now also the largest worldwide debut for an R-rated movie.

With this astonishing box office performance, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) now has an overall total gross of $30 billion, still leading the list of the highest-grossing movie franchises of all time.

This is a very impressive performance for the MCU film, especially since some of the releases in the past few years have experienced a box office slump and this will put the franchise back on track again.

The recreation of the meme is also a treat for fans who have been looking forward to seeing Jackman do his version ever since his return was announced, and it's great that they were able to do it for a monumental celebration.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theaters everywhere.
