The now-53-year-old actor was offered to do the TV series Correlli in 1995 during his final Academy graduation performance. He went on to do stage musicals in 1996, while his early movie projects came in 1999’s Erskineville Kings and Paperback Hero.
He also made TV appearances in Law of the Land and Blue Heelers. He then started to make a name outside of Australia by doing the theatre production of Oklahoma in London’s West End in 1998 and starred in its film version.

He then received his breakthrough when he played the role of Wolverine in X-Men in 2000, earning him a Saturn Award for Best Actor. For doing the role for about 17 years, he even made a Guinness World Record for “Longest Career as a Live-Action Marvel Superhero.”
