Hugh Jackman may have grown fond of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively all these years, but fans are trying to vote out of this friendship.
Past the whole Deadpool & Wolverine uniting the Merc with the Mouth and the clawed mutant, Ryan and Blake still have a lawsuit to deal with.
Here’s why fans are convinced Hugh Jackman should tap out of it.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Show Support for Hugh Jackman’s Latest Play
Another Simply Favor star, Blake Lively, along with her husband Ryan Reynolds, recently reunited with their mutual friend Hugh Jackman at a screening premiere of Blake's upcoming sequel.
Upon posting photos of the three of them together, Jackman's fans couldn't help but warn the award-winning actor that the couple spells nothing but trouble for his reputation and potentially, his career.
"You look great together, but Ryan is trouble. Might wanna stay away from that side for a while," one fan commented.
Another chimed in to say, "It's too bad that Ryan Reynolds is real trouble. Truly not a decent human being. Very sad!"
"Was a huge fan of them but after spending time going through the legal filings, the evidence is quite clear," they wrote, "Very close to unfollowing HJ as well... very disappointing that he is cosigning this behavior."
Following Jackman's support for the couple, Lively and Reynolds took off to New York to watch The Greatest Showman star's Off-Broadway play, Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, on April 29.
As beloved as Deadpool and Wolverine's team-up on the big screens was, fans are not willing to support a type of friendship that could drag Jackman to rock bottom.
Why Fans Are Pushing Hugh Jackman to Break It Off with the Controversial Hollywood ‘IT’ Couple
These fans' comments stem from the fact that Reynolds and Lively are currently involved in a legal and public controversy surrounding the behind-the-scenes events of It Ends With Us, specifically between the film director Justin Baldoni and the movie's female lead, Blake.
Despite seemingly having no drama during the premiere of It Ends With Us, the issue behind the film ironically didn't end there.
Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment with claims of destroying her reputation in December 2024. The helmer, on the other hand, countersued both her and her husband for defamation soon after.
A reliable insider told PEOPLE that the Gossip Girl icon has "no regrets" suing Baldoni, adding, "She can't go through life knowing she didn't stand up to something she believed was wrong."
While Lively filed a motion in an attempt to dismiss Baldoni's countersuit, the Five Feet Apart director's attorney asked the judge to deny her request, explaining that they aim to hold her "accountable for her actions of pure malice, which include falsely accusing my clients of harassment and retaliation."
The case between Lively and Baldoni is currently set to go to trial in March 2026, and fans understand that sticking with the couple could trap him into something he never signed up for. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
