The two-year period of separation for Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman and SIFF Awardee actress Deborra-Lee Furness has concluded, as reports confirm their divorce papers are now finalized.

What's Up with the $250M Fortune Split Amid Hugh and Debora's Divorce?

Hugh Jackman's estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, has reportedly filed for divorce after nearly two years since they announced their split.

The 69-year-old Australian actress finalized papers on Friday, May 23, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

Furness' lawyer, Elena Karabatos, filed a series of docs that proved the parties involved had officiated the details of their divorce after their September 2023 breakup announcement.

Another insider claimed that Furness had been holding up their divorce, considering that she and Jackman were "struggling to see eye-to-eye" on how to divide their $250 million fortune.

Furness allegedly felt she was "entitled to more money" than the amount Jackman was offering at the time, especially since the filings included a "notice concerning continuation of health care coverage", a proposed "qualified medical child support order" and a New York state case registry form, which reports child support orders for the region.

The couple met in 1995 while filming the Australian TV series Correlli and tied the knot one year later. Over the years, they grew out their family with two adopted kids, namely, Oscar, whom they adopted in 2000, and Ava in 2005.

What's the True Reason Behind the 27-Year Marriage Wreck?

As reported by Us Weekly, Furness supported Jackman throughout his early career and defended him amid rumors that he was gay.

The following year, Jackman celebrated their 27-year anniversary on Instagram in April 2023 with the caption, "Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart."

Five months later, news broke about Furness and Jackman getting divorced, marking this part of the journey as a shift to pursue new goals in their separate ways. "Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth," the couple previously said.

However, rumors resurfaced that Jackman potentially had an affair behind closed doors. He and his Music Man co-star Sutton Foster may have publicly confirmed their relationship in public in 2024, but insiders claimed that Foster was a factor in the divorce.

"Sutton and Hugh's relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced," an insider told exclusively to Us Weekly, adding that "a lot of people on Broadway knew" but only "kept it quiet" since they were "nice and great people", "Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap."

At the time of the alleged affair, Foster was still married to Ted Griffin, which made her turn to file for divorce in October 2024. The former couple started co-parenting their daughter, Emily.

On the other hand, Furness was reported to be "rebuilding her life and taking a vacation to Bhutan" in March, for it to be a fresh start after Jackman's alleged cheating.

As told to the same news outlet, Furness has found solidarity "among female friends" and also "spends time with other women who've been through similar situations who offer her unwavering support."
