He had a cameo appearance in Michael J. Fox-directed short The Iceman Hummeth in 1985 and starred in A Fine Mess in 1986.

He also voiced Bunsen, Honeydew, Animal, and Skeeter in the first two seasons of Muppet Babies.

Come 1992, he had his own show, Howie, followed by a sketch comedy series Howie Mandel’s Sunny Skies.
