Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 is not unique in featuring a character who dies and gets reincarnated in another world as a child with magical powers. It is, however, quite unique in the choice to feature a female main character whose immediate plans don't involve battle. The isekai anime is a bookworm's dream following a very young character who just wants to read. But how old is Myne in Ascendance of a Bookworm?
About Ascendance of a Bookworm
Ascendance of a Bookworm follows 22-year-old Urano, a woman working towards her dream to become a librarian. When she's killed by her own book collection during an earthquake, her dying wish is for more time to read.
This being an isekai anime, Urano gets her wish with a twist; she's reincarnated into the body of a little girl called Myne - which should mean plenty of time for reading. Unfortunately, this is a fantastic version of the Medieval times, but not fantastic enough for printing to be readily available.
But Myne won't let that stop her; even if most of her new family and friends don't know how to read, or even how to find a book, she's so dedicated to her goal to acquire and read all the books, that she will keep going, even if she has to print them herself.

How Old Is Myne?
At the beginning of Ascendance of a Bookworm, Myne is five years old. By Season 3 of the show, she's still a very young child, though later chapters of the Ascendance of a Bookworm light novel feature an older Myne.
Oddly, Urano does not seem to get reincarnated as Myne since the moment of her birth, instead regaining consciousness of her old identity when Myne is already five. This has caused some fans to wonder what happened to the real Myne. It is, of course, possible, that Myne was always Urano's reincarnation and that Urano only became conscious of that during a fever, or that the two identities merge.
In any case, Ascendance of a Bookworm is the perfect isekai for book lovers, and it will be great to see more of Myne's printing adventures as she grows older.
