Dupli-Kate Surprises Immortal in Invincible Season 2 Finale
As Immortal returns to his cabin from his fishing trip up in the mountains, he is stunned and frozen to see Dupli-Kate by herself.
It's clear that even the veteran superhero had plenty of questions he wanted answers to. Luckily, Dupli-Kate doesn't waste her time and explains how she survived in the first place.
Remember the many Kate clones and the presumed original Kate that died? Well, as it turns out, Kate had it all planned even before meeting Immortal.
Kate reveals that all her life, she's practically been living through her clone copies, hiding in secret, just in case. "I was so tired of dying." She finally admits she was seeking a normal life, away from superhero work.
Initially, she wanted to run away and "become someone else" to keep herself safe. However, she couldn't, considering that she found Immortal, who understood her way better than anyone else could.
You'd think Immortal would need to take some time before everything sinks in, but he immediately pulled her into a hug, simply relieved she still lived.

What Does This Mean For Dupli-Kate's Future?
It remains to be seen whether this means Dupli-Kate ever plans on returning to the Guardians of the Globe.
However, since Immortal himself has always wanted to retire from his never-ending hero work, too, it's possible that these two could live a quiet life by themselves, away from being Earth's defenders.
Not for long though, because in the Invincible's original comics, Dupli-Kate's villainous brother, Multi-Paul, comes out to avenge his sister's death.
Because of the havoc he wreaks, it's only then that Dupli-Kate will be able to return to the real world to save everyone, even if it means disrupting the peace she built for herself.
For now, Invincible season 3 onwards will likely unravel it all.
