It's been quite a while since Lucasfilm released the very first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker and now fans are patiently waiting for the studio to drop the movies first full trailer.
Star Wars: Episode IX is making its way to cinemas in December, so we can we really expect Lucasfilm to officially begin promoting the film in earnest? Fans were hoping that the studio would release the first full trailer for The Rise of Skywalker during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, however, there wasn't any sign of the new footage from the film. Ever since it's absence at this year's SDCC, some have begun hoping that Star Wars might drop the trailer during Disney's D23 Expo later this month.
Unfortunately, it seems like the very first trailer for The Rise of Skywalker may land in October instead. If we look at the patterns of Star Wars' marketing campaign for previous films, October seems to be the more likely release month for Episode IX's first full trailer.
Not only did Lucasfilm release the first full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens on October 19, 2015, but it also released the first full trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi on October 19, 2017.
Of course, we could be wrong. Lucasfilm might want to surprise fans with the trailer at a separate event. We'll just have to wait and see really. Patience is key.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
