At the age of 83, Harrison Ford has finally received his first-ever Emmy nomination for his performance in Shrinking.
The Hollywood legend has been receiving acclaim for his work in the hit Apple TV+ series. While he was snubbed in the first season, fans are hoping that he will finally earn his overdue nomination for the show's sophomore chapter.
Did Harrison Ford Finally Receive His First Emmy Nomination?
Ford received an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in Shrinking season 2.
It marks the legendary actor's first-ever Emmy nomination in his decades-long career. He was previously nominated for an Oscar back in the 80s.
He is nominated in the category alongside his Shrinking co-star Michael Urie, Ike Barinholtz (The Studio), Colman Domingo (The Four Seasons), Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear), and Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live).
It was also a wonderful day for Shrinking overall, as it received seven nominations in total, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
As for whether Ford can take home the gold this September, the odds from different awards prediction sites suggest that he is highly competitive to win the category.
What Does Harrison Ford Think of His Historic Emmy Nomination?
So far, Ford has not released a statement regarding his reaction to getting his first Emmy nomination for Shrinking.
However, Urie shared on his Instagram post a screenshot of his text exchange with Ford congratulating each other.
Based on the text exchange, we can safely say that Ford was also delighted about the news, and he was happy that he got nominated alongside his co-star.
Ford has received Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for his performance in Shrinking, but he hasn't won for any of them. The question now is whether the Emmys will be the one where he will bag the gold.
If Ford wins the Emmy, it will be his first-ever major industry award in his legendary career.
