There is no word yet on whether or not we'll get to see Halle Berry reprise her role as Storm in the MCU, but the original X-Men film star recently recalled the time Fox did "shady sh*t" just to have her back in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Halle Berry Weighs In On the "Shady" Thing Fox Did To Force Storm's Return

Earlier this year, Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn shared that he was initially attached to helm the threequel, X-Men: The Last Stand.

That is until he spilled tea and claimed that 20th Century Fox intentionally created a fake script to trick Halle Berry into returning as Ororo Monroe.

"Hollywood is really political and odd. I went into an executive's office, and I saw a script that was a lot fatter," Vaughn told fans about the original plan at New York Comic Con last October, "I was like, 'What the h*ll's this draft?' They said, 'Don't worry about it.'"

According to Vaughn, the script was explicitly called the 'Halle Berry script' which the actress hadn't signed on yet at the time. However, the plan was to have her sign it before the story gets scrapped, just to have her on board.

Vaughn didn't take this lightly and responded with, "I said, 'Wow, you're going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress? I'm out of here.' So I quit at that point. I figured I was mincemeat." And it didn't take long for Berry to react to this news.

As a form of her response to the resurfaced clip of Vaughn quitting from 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, she took her words to Instagram and wrote, "Ya just never know the shady s*** going on behind ya back! Thank you Matthew Vaughn for bringing the dark to light."

Halle Berry's Storm didn't get the chance to reprise her role in Deadpool & Wolverine, but having the X-Men canon in Marvel's Cinematic Universe is more than enough to have the iconic mutants back into the game sometime in the future.

For now, it remains to be seen what Marvel has in store for her. Stay tuned for more updates on this story!
