Hailey Bieber delivered a speech during the Daily Front Row's Fashion LA Awards on Thursday, but fans quickly noticed its similarities to remarks Selena Gomez made in an interview four years ago.
Because of this, Bieber has come under scrutiny, and was even called a “creepy stalker” due to what some are calling “obsessive” behavior, particularly in relation to her husband Justin Bieber’s ex.

Hailey Bieber is being accused by fans of copying Selena Gomez’s lines again.
When she gave her acceptance speech after receiving the ‘Beauty Innovator of the Year’ award, a TikTok user thought her statement sounded familiar and created a video comparing the two instances.
“When I started Rhode, I didn’t want to start a brand for the sake of starting a brand. I really wanted to create an entire world,” Justin Bieber’s wife said at the Daily Front Row's 9th Annual Fashion Awards.
The Rhode Skin founder gave what many saw as an inspiring speech about starting her company. However, fans pointed out that it closely resembles remarks Gomez made during an interview with Special Madame Figaro Arabia in 2021.
During that time, Gomez was asked, “What prompted you to start your own brand?” She responded, “I didn't want to launch a makeup line for the sake of launching a brand. What interests me is cultivating beauty from the inside.”
“The idea was to tell those who would buy Rare Beauty products: you are beautiful, you are special, and here is a place where you can try different things on your lashes, lips, and eyelids … with a big range of colors,” Gomez continued.
Meanwhile, the comments under the comparison video were flooded with fans calling out Bieber, criticizing her for “copying everything” Gomez does and describing her as a “creepy stalker copycat,” suggesting this wasn’t a one-time or even two-time incident.
That said, some have defended her, pointing out that similar phrases have been used by many celebrities, not just Gomez. Others argued that the “vague” statement may have come from her PR team.

Hailey Bieber has been in hot water before for allegedly mirroring Gomez, from her interview lines to her fashion choices.
One of those instances was when Gomez got a cursive “G” tattoo behind her ear, which she explained in a 2015 interview was for her sister. Around the same time, Bieber was seen with a nearly identical tattoo in the same spot and claimed it was a tribute to the daughter of her church’s pastor.
The 26-year-old model denied the allegations in 2022 but didn’t exactly try to refute them either. And just recently, during a Disneyland trip with her husband, she wore the same polka-dotted Mickey Mouse ears Gomez had worn during a getaway with her fiancé, Benny Blanco.
Moreover, fans pointed out that the couple even went on the same rides Gomez and Blanco had been seen on, leading to speculation that the Biebers are “trolling” the recently engaged pair.
Justin Bieber and Gomez began dating in 2010 and went through multiple breakups and reconciliations before finally parting ways in 2018. That same year, Hailey Bieber and the Baby singer were seen together more frequently, got engaged, and later secretly married.
