Oscar-winning actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow has weighed in on Meghan Markle's foray into the lifestyle space and her new Netflix series.
The Duchess of Sussex recently premiered her new series With Love, Meghan on Netflix as she continues to establish herself as a lifestyle influencer.
Gwyneth Paltrow Reacts to Meghan Markle's New Lifestyle Series
In a recent interview, Paltrow was asked whether she saw Markle as a new competitor to her Goop brand as she entered the lifestyle space.
The Oscar winner explained that she had no issue with the Duchess of Sussex's foray into the lifestyle space as she believes that "everybody deserves an attempt."
"I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try," she said.
However, Paltrow admitted that she has not seen Markle's Netflix series With Love, Meghan and she does not personally know her despite living in the same neighborhood.
"I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie," she shared.
"There’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them."
The Future of With Love, Meghan
With Love, Meghan premiered on Netflix earlier this month to a tepid reception as it did not receive favorable from critics nor did it chart as the top show on the platform.
The series reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversations with friends, new and old.
Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.
Despite the lukewarm reactions, the series was already renewed for a second season with all episodes already filmed. It is slated to premiere on Netflix this fall.
