Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is already promising to be the best Guardians film yet and it's pretty safe to say that director James Gunn is going the extra mile just to give the fans what they've been asking for for years now. With Gunn reportedly on his way out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it looks like the GOTG is ready to usher in a new era.
Turns out, our favorite "Space Avengers" will be undergoing massive aesthetic changes for the upcoming threequel which is set to hit cinemas next year and leaks are already spreading on social media like wildfire.
Set photos from the film which is still in production have surfaced on Twitter. The said images offer us our very first look at Chris Pratt's Star-Lord and Karen Gillan's Nebula who are rocking their new uniforms inspired by their comic book looks.
If you may recall, in Avengers: Endgame, Rocket Raccoon already planted the seeds for the Guardians' change of look after being the first member to wear a more comic-accurate costume. Turns out it was a massive foreshadowing of what was to come. Check out the images here.

Now, as for the future of the GOTG franchise now that Gunn is set to leave, it'll be interesting to see which direction Marvel plans to take our beloved heroes.
Marvel Studios' third Guardians of the Galaxy project is currently slated for release on May 5, 2022.
