According to Deadline, Greyhound 2 follows Captain Krause (Hanks) and the Greyhound crew from the beaches of Normandy to the Pacific Ocean as they help turn the tide of the war.

To recap, the first film saw Krause, who was a first-time captain, tasked with protecting a convoy of 37 ships carrying thousands of soldiers and much-needed supplies across the treacherous waters of the Atlantic during World War II. It is inspired by events during the Battle of the Atlantic, which took place in the earliest months of America’s alliance with Great Britain and the Allied Forces.

It was a huge success for Apple TV when it was released in July 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic at that time. It set viewership records for the streamer and ended up receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Sound.

Production is currently underway in Sydney, Australia. Aside from starring, Hanks also wrote the screenplay and served as producer. Aaron Schneider returned to direct the follow-up.

Who is Starring in Greyhound 2?
