Gollum, notoriously known as one of the most pathetic creatures in Middle-Earth, is somehow a high-value target.

As the One Ring's worst corruption victim, Gollum's affinity for the evil artefact gave it intimate knowledge of its nature.

Hunters of Gollum should scout these places in Middle-Earth since the Ring-corrupted creature has made a dwelling out of these potential hiding spots!

Gollum's cave in The Misty Mountains

For most of its existence, Gollum lived in the caves and tunnels of the Misty Mountains.

When it possessed the One Ring, the creature formerly known as Smeagol often retreated to these mountains from parties that wanted to take Precious from it.

Gollum also survived by utilising the rivers running along the mountain and its cave systems, catching and eating raw fish.

While Gollum isn't entirely comfortable stepping foot in Elven territory, its knowledge about Mirkwood's forests could be invaluable when escaping from a pursuit.

Aragorn dragged the creature as the ranger's captive along the Elven territory. Should Gollum go through Mirkwood, it can hide inside the dense forest canopies.

Gollum leads Frodo and Sam through The Dead Marshes

No living denizen in Middle-Earth likes going through the Dead Marshes. As the site of one of the most brutal wars in Middle-Earth history, it can and will creep any passerby out!

It doesn't help that the corpses of the war's victims can be seen just beneath the surface.

Gollum has led Frodo and Sam through this harrowing terrain like it's nothing, implying that the creature has some familiarity with the marshes. It would make sense since the One Ring has rendered poor Gollum almost half-dead and can easily blend in with the corpses. It can be disturbing to think about, but Gollum has to survive!

Fangorn Forest

While Fangorn is near the production mills of Isengard, the Ents that live in it hate the dark forces that work in its war machines.

As long as the Ents are occupied, Gollum can dwell in Fangorn.

The ancient trees can even act as the creature's wards against the Orcs as long as it can convince the trees to protect it.

Mount Doom

As a barren wasteland with a dangerous threat bubbling beneath it, Mount Doom would be anyone's last choice as a dream destination in Middle-Earth.

But not for Gollum.

As the destination for the creature's ultimate goal, Gollum can find deep crevices to hide in when walking along Mount Doom. The hostile environment around the volcano is also a natural deterrent against the creature's hunters.

Gollum remained breathing because of moving between these places in Middle-Earth. It survived extremely unnatural conditions that would be uncomfortable for an average living being. But it seems the Ring's corruption gave Gollum the resilience, as tragic as it sounds.
