On Sunday, Gal Gadot took to her Instagram Story to share her true feelings on what transpired during the promotion of Snow White and how fans may have “criticized” her too harshly, allegedly just because she happened to be an Israeli actress.
Here's what she said.
What Did Gal Gadot Write on Her Instagram Story Post-Snow White Fiasco?
While the buzz around Snow White has dimmed down, Gadot took the opportunity to clarify her previous statement regarding the live adaptation flopping at the box office.

"When the film came out, I felt that those who are against Israel criticized me in a very personal, almost visceral way," Gadot wrote on the Instagram Story. "They saw me first and foremost as an Israeli, not as an actress. That's the perspective I spoke from when I answered the question."
However, while she's dealing with personal feelings as to how the promotion looked for her part in Snow White, she does admit the film's failure wasn't "solely because of external pressures."
With her words, Gadot recently made an appearance on Israeli TV show The A Talks, where the Wonder Woman star revealed she had high hopes of Snow White becoming a "huge hit." But given the shift of the Israel-Palestine war, Gadot believed "there's pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel."
Gadot, who has been an outspoken supporter of Israel on social media, has garnered backlash from fans.
As much as she would have chosen to speak about the issue, "In the end, people make their own decisions." In this case, Gadot made her stance clearer with her recent visit to "end the Gaza war."
Did Disney Really Flop Due to Criticism or the Idea of Live Adaptations In General?

Disney's live-action films are a hit and miss, continuously. You win some, you lose some. Snow White is beyond its criticism—especially when its story and production are not up to par with the franchise's past successes, such as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, and Aladdin.
What's the difference? When these four only aimed to transform the original animation pieces into something non-cartoon-watching adults could enjoy, Snow White drove fans away due to the changes to every bit of the storyline from its original roots.
It's not just the backlash Rachel Zegler faced for being chosen for the role; it's also how Snow White tried to stay away from its source material that fans who grew up with the first Disney animation couldn't recognize it anymore. Not even for its signature songs.
Still, fans can take the time to watch Snow White on Disney+.
