Gal Gadot’s upcoming film, The Runner, is now underway, with filming taking place in various locations across London.

Several activists, however, have been trying to disrupt the production by reportedly protesting near the film set. On Sunday, they were heard chanting, "Gal Gadot, you can’t hide" and "Gal Gadot not welcome here" on the streets.

The Metropolitan Police arrested five of them in Westminster on May 25 and said the motivation behind the protest was "solely because an actress involved in the production is Israeli."

Gadot, who served in the Israel Defense Forces for two years, as military service is mandatory at age 18, has publicly expressed support for Israeli victims following the Hamas attack in 2023.

The 40-year-old actress has consistently been a target of protests, particularly after the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic & Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) announced its stance to boycott all films featuring Gadot.

The group accuses the Wonder Woman star of actively supporting her country’s military campaign in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

"While we absolutely acknowledge the importance of peaceful protest, we have a duty to intervene where it crosses the line into serious disruption or criminality," said Police Superintendent Neil Holyoak.

"We have been in discussions with the production company to understand the impact of the protests on their work and on any individuals involved."

The superintendent hopes the arrests send a clear message that there is no tolerance for "harassment or unlawful interference" with individuals carrying out professional work in London.

The five unidentified protesters remain in custody.

What’s Next for Gal Gadot After Snow White?

Following the underwhelming and lukewarm reception of Disney’s Snow White, the actors who starred in the controversial remake are now ready to move on with their lives and careers.

Rachel Zegler, who portrayed Snow White, has taken on a new challenge in theater, starring as the lead in Evita at London’s Palladium.

Meanwhile, Gadot is set to appear alongside Damian Lewis in The Runner, an action thriller written by Mark Gibson and directed by Kevin Macdonald.

In the film, Gadot plays a top-tier attorney who gets caught in a chaotic race across London after her son is mysteriously abducted. She’s forced to follow the cryptic instructions of an unknown caller, who appears to be her only lead to finding him.

Filming began this April, though the movie does not yet have an official release date.
