Disney’s live-action Snow White remake, featuring Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler, has been plagued by controversy, including reports of an alleged feud between its two lead stars, resulting in them being “not friends.”

Amid the film’s ongoing crisis—ranging from broader criticism of its direction to issues with its marketing strategy—a source revealed that the stark differences between Gadot and Zegler have further exacerbated tensions. These differences allegedly include a “huge age gap” and “very different political views.”

As the reported tensions between the stars continue, Disney faces an uphill battle in salvaging its Snow White remake from further backlash and uncertainty.

The Differing Political Views

Despite working together for months, Gadot and Zegler allegedly have a strained relationship, with a source telling People that they have “nothing in common,” especially given that the Wonder Woman star is already a mother of four.

Adding to the tension are their differing political views—Zegler is a vocal supporter of Palestine, while Gadot is an outspoken defender of her home country, Israel.

In fact, when the movie’s trailer was released in August, Zegler reminded her followers to “Always remember, free Palestine” when she thanked everyone for its million views in a post on X.

On the contrary, Gadot has always stood for Israel.

“I stand with Israel you should too,” she wrote in a post on Instagram at the time. “The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!”

The Drama Surrounding Snow White

With Zegler’s vocal support for Palestine, an insider told Page Six that Disney chiefs had asked the 23-year-old actress to tone down her posts, but she would not listen.

In addition to her political beliefs, she also slammed the 1937 animated version of Snow and the Seven Dwarfs, questioning the focus on the lead character’s love story with a guy “who literally stalks her.” She also called the classic tale “outdated.”

“Weird. So we didn’t do that this time,” she told Variety in 2022. “I was scared of the original version. I think I watched it once and never picked it up again.”

This sparked criticism that the remake and Zegler were too “woke.” She also faced racist backlash following her casting announcement in 2021 due to her Latinx background.

With all the drama surrounding Snow White, a different source revealed Gadot “is annoyed.”

“She enjoyed filming. She was fine with Rachel but they are not friends,” the tipster continued. “They have nothing in common... They did a job together and that’s it.”

With Gadot’s attitude of “you don’t criticize and cause drama for a project you signed on to do,” the 39-year-old star “just doesn’t get it.”

Regardless of their differences, the two actresses still attended promotional events together, including the Oscars earlier this month and the streamlined Los Angeles premiere on March 15.

Hence, despite their alleged feud, both actresses have remained professional. However, there is no denying that the controversies surrounding Snow White have led to skepticism about its box office performance, especially as the film is set to hit the big screen on March 21.
