Many readers have been hoping for this announcement for some time now, and finally, the Gachiakuta anime is officially in the works. With the show in production, some are wondering what the Gachiakuta release date will be.
While there’s no word yet on a specific release date, we do know that the anime will premiere sometime next year.
Based on its studio’s current lineup coupled with the fact that there’s no proper trailer for it yet, we can get a good idea of when to expect this new anime to come out.
Gachiakuta Release Date Predictions
Gachiakuta is the next anime by Bones, the notable studio behind popular titles such as My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
As with most of the studio’s projects, this is an adaptation of a popular shonen manga by Kei Urana, an artist who is known for being one of Soul Eater creator Atsushi Ohkubo’s assistants.
Urana’s Gachiakuta manga started serialization in February 2022 in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Since then, the manga has gotten a lot of praise from readers. As such, it’s no surprise that it’s getting an anime adaptation in 2025.
The new anime was announced alongside a teaser visual and announcement video on the anime’s official channels.
However, this video did not include actual clips from the anime, as it simply featured animated versions of the manga panels.
Given that there’s no proper trailer yet, we likely won’t see this in early 2025. Spring or summer 2025 might be its release date, especially as the studio is still busy with My Hero Academia season 7.
Fans Have High Hopes for Gachiakuta with Studio Bones at the Helm
Fans already have high hopes for this new anime given studio Bones' excellent track record in shonen anime.
Of course, the fact that the manga is still ongoing is some cause for concern. After all, adapting an ongoing manga brings with it some challenges, especially if the anime catches up faster than expected to the source material.
This has happened to Bones projects before such as Soul Eater and the original Fullmetal Alchemist. Still, fans are optimistic that this won’t be the case.
