A lot of people thought that the second season of Iron Fist was a great improvement on the first, that's why they were all shocked when news came out that Netflix has cancelled the show. If it's any consolation, it won't be the last we see of Finn Jones as Danny Rand.
As per Entertainment Weekly, Jones will continue to appear as the Immortal Iron Fist in the Marvel Netflix universe. We already saw him make a guest appearance in Luke Cage 2, so it's possible we could see him pop up in shows like Jessica Jones and Daredevil. Maybe we can even have a Heroes for Hire limited series.
The same practically happened for The CW's John Constantine character played by Matt Ryan. His show was cancelled after one season, but Ryan still kept appearing in the universe, even voicing the character in some animated versions.
If anything, some are hoping that Iron Fist finds new life in Disney's streaming service. I'm just hoping that they find a new creative team behind the show. With Marvel Netflix being separated from the main MCU, maybe Iron Fist could be the first to make that more solid connection to the cinematic universe. I'd love to see him run into characters like Spider-Man or Doctor Strange.
For now, Iron Fist is gone, but the character will be here to stay. At least it's something.
Catch Iron Fist on Netflix.
