The Halo season 2 finale has just aired on Paramount Plus, and fans have already taken to social media to express their dismay over the live-action portrayal of the beloved sci-fi franchise.

X user @madis259 posted expressing their disbelief that anyone could have thought the second season of Halo would be any different or better from the first.

When season 1 of Halo arrived, fans complained about scenes in which Master Chief removed his helmet, despite doing so several times in the Halo novelizations.

The issue is the on-screen portrayal of the Flood, a parasitic adversary featured as a primary antagonist in video games.

"The finale of the Halo TV Show finally got around to introducing the Flood and they're literally just generic zombies who run around stabbing people" stated X user @madis259 in their post on the platform.

The post was followed by fans replying with how bad they found the TV adaptation. One viewer said, "They started lame and made it lamer." Others were not so PG in their comments.

Previously, Steven Kane, showrunner for Halo season one, had said they didn't even look at the games when making the live-action adaptation of Halo.

In the season 2 finale titled 'Halo,' the Flood is introduced when a relic covered in dormant spores suddenly comes to life.

A lab tech named Janine is a carrier for the spores and quickly turns into one of the parasitic monsters, causing an outbreak throughout the entire base.

At this time, Paramount has not confirmed that the Halo live-action show will have a third outing.

The show was renewed for a second season before its first season aired, and the second season was released two years later.

Halo showrunner David Wiener told Collider this year:

"There's so much of the legacy, of the lore, but also, every solution brings about its own problems at the end of the season, and I think that it's a great springboard.

"I hope we get the chance to make more. That's totally the intention. You do think about it. I would be lying if I said we didn't."

Whether fans are happy with the show or not, Paramount may yet renew the Halo series for another season. We will be sure to update you once more information arrives.
