What is Ke Huy Quan's Love Hurts About? Who Else is in the Flick?
Previously titled With Love, Ke Huy Quan's upcoming action film has been retitled Love Hurts.
The leading actor plays Marvin Gable, a real estate agent from Milwaukee suburbs whose life turns upside down when he receives a mysterious crimson envelope, otherwise described as an "affable realtor with a dark secret."
Starring opposite of Ke Huy Quan is West Side Story, Wish, and Hamilton star Ariana DeBose as Rose, aka Marvin's former partner-in-crime "he left for dead."
Love Hurts sees to it that Marvin Gable is forced to confront his notorious past with crime lord brother Knuckles (Daniel Wu).
Other stellar stars include former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, Mustafa Shakir, Rhys Darby, and The Lord of the Rings' Sean Astin.
Love Hurts Director Has Nothing But Praises For Ke Huy Quan's Performance
Quan remains hopeful that he can still do the action stunts himself, "I didn't take her advice," he recalls former co-star Michelle Yeoh's advice to 'not do everything himself' which Quan took as a form of encouragement, "I wanted to prove to myself that I can still do it."
The Academy Award winner adds that Love Hurts director Jonathan Eusebio is "very proud" of their assembled cast.
"It's a very fun movie," Quan teases, "The most interesting action heroes are the ones people can identify with." He notes how "nice" it is to "identify with someone who looks like you" or even grow up in the same circumstance.
He later adds, "I don't look like your typical action star. A badass doesn't have to look like a badass."
