Hermione Granger and Madame Hooch have been grounded from driving!
Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Zoe Wanamaker both received driving bans for separate yet similar speeding offenses in England, proving that even magic folk must obey Muggle traffic laws.
How Did Harry Potter Co-Stars Emma Watson and Zoe Wanamaker Get Banned from Driving?
Two Harry Potter co-stars, namely Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger, and Zoe Wanamaker, who played the flying broom instructor and Quidditch referee Madame Hooch, have both recently faced a driving ban at the High Wycombe Magistrates' Court in England.
According to the BBC report, they were both banned and fined over separate circumstances under the same speeding-related offenses.
Watson is no stranger to her driving cases. Last year, the 35-year-old was caught driving at 38 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone in Oxford in July.
She was fined £1,044 and had already earned nine demerit points on her license prior to that offense. Thus, her driving ban lasts for six months this time, meaning she will have to apply for a new license to drive again.

Per the BBC, Watson did not attend her five-minute hearing in court, but agreed to pay the fine through representatives.
Wanamaker, on the other hand, was caught speeding at 46 miles per hour through a 40 miles per hour zone last August. She received a similar fine to Watson while also being banned from driving for six months.
The 76-year-old accumulated nine demerit points on her license, as well.
While both have yet to make any comments on HBO's upcoming Harry Potter reboot, here are the most recent developments for the show.
What's the Latest on the Anticipated Harry Potter Reboot?
Despite controversies surrounding the billion-dollar franchise and its author, HBO's original reboot series for Harry Potter was first greenlit on April 12, 2023.
Though the streaming show will follow the original books, this time, each book will get a spotlight of its own in each season.
Recently, HBO confirmed that the reboot has begun filming, as previously promised in December 2024.
To ease the minds of fans, old and new, HBO released their first look at Scottish actor Dominic McLaughlin sporting the titular character with the iconic uniform and cloak, along with the scar on his forehead and his signature round glasses.

One day later, HBO shared the first look at Nick Frost as Hagrid on his first day shooting as the Hogwarts gatekeeper. Hagrid dons the long iconic beard and hair, while donning an army green coat and grey knitted guard gloves to finish the character's signature look.
There is no confirmed release date yet for the Harry Potter reboot, other than its slated premiere year in 2027.
