Elon Musk was allegedly often high while serving under Donald Trump during the United States presidential election, with ketamine, ecstasy, and mushrooms said to be among the drugs he frequently used.

During the send-off commemorating his departure from the Trump administration on Friday, his alleged excessive drug use, reported in an article by The New York Times, was brought up by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy.

The Tesla CEO appeared to take offense at the accusation, cutting the reporter off before he could finish his question.

"The New York Times. Is that the same publication that got a Pulitzer Prize for false reporting on the Russiagate?" Musk said while standing beside Trump.

"I think the judge just ruled against The New York Times for their lies about the Russia-gate hoax, and that they might have to give back that prize."

He was referring to a case in which the U.S. president sued the Pulitzer Prize Board for defamation after it awarded the outlet for publishing a detailed report on alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, which led to Trump’s first win.

The board refused to revoke the awards from The New York Times and The Washington Post, and requested a pause on the lawsuit until the conclusion of Trump’s legal proceedings.

Trump, however, celebrated "a major win" on Wednesday when a Florida court declined that request.

When asked if he had concerns about The New York Times’ claims regarding Elon Musk’s drug use, the POTUS said he wasn't troubled and claimed he didn’t know anything about it.

"I'm not troubled by anything with Elon," Trump simply said, even calling him "fantastic."

Did Elon Musk’s Alleged Ketamine Addiction Have Any Effect on His Body?

Elon Musk’s ketamine use, according to The New York Times, was said to be "far more" intense than previously reported.

Musk had earlier admitted in a 2024 CNN interview that he was using ketamine as a prescribed drug to help reduce a "negative chemical mind state" and manage pressure from Tesla investors.

However, the SpaceX founder’s alleged "drug consumption went well beyond occasional use" during the time he was assisting with Donald Trump’s campaign to return to the presidency.

His excessive use of ketamine has reportedly affected his bladder. The Times stated that this is one of the known effects of "chronic use."

Moreover, concerned insiders reached out to The Times and revealed that "some people who knew him worried about his frequent drug use, mood swings, and fixation on having more children."

The outlet also claims that Musk frequently turned to ketamine during periods of conflict with the mothers of his children, one of them being Ashley St. Clair, who recently announced that Musk is the father of her child following a positive paternity test.

Aside from his earlier comment in the Oval Office, there has been no further response from Musk regarding his alleged drug use or personal life.
