The latest manga chapter of Dragon Ball Super has revealed the true power of Granolah's eye, and it looks like it will be a huge problem to Goku and Vegeta if they want their mission to take him down to succeed.
Warning: Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super Chapter 72: Saiyans and Cerealian ahead.
After arriving in planet Cereal and being directed by the Heeters about the "bad guy lurking in the mountain", Goku and Vegeta encounter the lone Cerealian survivor, Granolah, who has a vendetta to settle against Freeza and the Saiyans who wiped out his race. This scene gives us our first look at the actual power of Granolah's right eye. Initially, Granolah's eye seemingly allowed him to be a pin-point accurate sharpshooter with his powerful finger blasts, but in the latest chapter, we learn more about its incredible power.
During Goku and Vegeta's battle with Granolah, the Cerealian warrior shoots Goku with a single finger blast to the back of the neck, which hits one of the Saiyan's vital points. Thanks to Vegeta's quick rescue with a Senzu bean, Goku was able to recover. Even after Goku combines Super Saiyan God and Ultra Instinct, Granolah is able to strike Goku again with a single blow, hitting another vital point.
Granolah explains that with the combination of his natural Cerealian gifts and his power upgrade wish, his right eye is now "the sharpest in the universe. It sees all." Granolah's right eye doesn't just make him see with pinpoint accuracy across great distances, he can also see his enemy's blood flow and muscle movements during a fight. This power allows Granolah to analyze Goku's body and attack his vital points easily.
It looks like the raw power of Goku's transformations are not enough to stop Granolah, and it's nice to see creators Akira Toriyama and Toyotaro design a villain with a unique ability we haven't seen in the popular franchise before.
