Donald recently discovered that he's an android and Cecil didn't dare deny the truth, but this didn't answer the former's question. So, what's left for them to do but to find out what Donald and Cecil's contract was about in Invincible?

What was Donald and Cecil's Contract About?
Invincible season 2 episode 7 titled I'm Not Going Anywhere not only explores Mark Grayson trying to balance his life with his superhero job and Amber but even Donald's side of the story.
Donald decides to confront Cecil about "destroying" his true identity and how his own boss slowly turned him into a revivable android. This doesn't sit right with Donald, so of course he wanted to quit his job.
What's agonizing about it is the fact that he felt neglected by his long-term boss, Cecil, instead of understanding how suddenly turning into an android is too much for Donald to take.
However, Cecil obviously wants to keep Donald in his loop, as part of his team. So, he finally unveils the truth to his confidante: Donald literally signed up for this arrangement.
As Donald found out after watching endless clips of his past deaths, "I chose to have my memories erased?"
"No one's supposed to carry that much trauma," Cecil explained that this had always been Donald's call from the beginning, "You thought it would slow you down, stop you from doing your job right, make you hesitate."

Anyone would find it difficult to trust the likes of Cecil. Heck, even the man himself admits he hates this quality of him, where he's only doing his job to protect his people.
It remains to be seen just how many times he's had to explain the whole contract to Donald, but one thing's for certain: Cecil trusts his colleagues more than they trust his methods.
Thanks to the big talk between Donald and Cecil, Cecil gets to keep him on the team, and Donald gets to make Rick Sheridan understand that despite becoming androids, they can still "help make this world a little better."
In this case, Rick saved Invincible and William previously, which means he can still make do with his second chance at life. The same way Donald plans to.
