Akari Watanabe is the main female protagonist of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers. She becomes Jirou Yakuin’s couples training partner, which led to them acting as a married couple. But will Akari develop feelings for Jirou as they pretend to be a real couple throughout the series' events?
When the romantic comedy anime started, Akari looked tough, but her personality softened as the story progressed, much like how she treated Jirou.

Does Akari Like Jirou?
In the series, Akari initially liked someone else; a guy named Minami Tenjin. However, as she and Jirou spent more time together, she started to open up to him because of his suave moves and tenderness, which are unexpected given his shy personality.
There are a lot of scenes in the first few episodes that show Akari blushing because of Jirou.
Specifically, it was in Episode 4 that Akari liking Jirou gets officially confirmed.
She confessed to him but dismissed it as a joke, possibly because she got scared that he will reject her.
But Does Akari Also Like Minami?
It was mentioned earlier that Akari used to like Minami Tenjin. He's also part of the couples training course, but he ended up as Shiori Sakurazaka’s partner.
He got a confession from Akari during a school trip, but he rejected her.
He explained that he has unrequited feelings for Nozomi, his former tutor who married his older brother.
It was also explained that his image of love changed after he saw his brother and Nozomi together.
The rejection helped Akari realize her true feelings for Jirou, and Minami wished her good luck in winning Jirou’s heart.
There were also scenes wherein Minami treated her badly like not showing up for a meeting and lying by saying that he was busy when he was just with another girl.
Will Akari and Jirou Date?
While their relationship continued to progress in the story, they have not yet reached the point wherein they are officially dating.
Akari eventually confessed her feelings to Jirou but it seems like her words did not get through to him based on his reactions in the recent manga chapter release of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers.
It is also too early to tell if the two of them will end up together, considering that the manga is still ongoing as of writing.
In line with that, fans will have to wait and see what happens next in the story to find out.
