Despite the year meeting its end, fans' hunger for new content from their favorite franchises is always longing to be satiated. Marvel has already released their 2023 slate, and DC is considering doing the same. The Star Wars universe is also looking forward to feeding the fans with three new live-action and three animated series that will premiere on Disney Plus next year. For the first time, the studio revealed the synopses of each to tease the fans.

To start off the first quarter, Disney is looking ahead of releasing the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on January 4, 2023. Bad Batch focuses on telling the story of rogue clones in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. For its new season, it looks to continue the journey of the crone troopers as they navigate through the empire after the fall of the Republic. Despite not receiving as much attention as The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Bad Batch is still important to the franchise because it connects the narrative and answers lore questions about the Star Wars universe. With a March 1st release date, The Mandalorian Season 3 looks forward to delving deep into Mandalorian lore as they expand Grogu and the lone gunslinger's galaxy journey as they cross paths with old allies and make new enemies. The Mandalorian has immediately won the hearts of Star Wars loyalists with its wonderfully crafted story and action-packed scenes. See trailer below:

Despite no definite date of release, Ahsoka is expected to debut in the late summer of 2023. When Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka appeared as a guest star in The Mandalorian Season 2 to help Din Djarin unravel more about Baby Yoda's origin as a Jedi, she immediately captured the interest of the audience and began to give them hope for her standalone Star Wars series. Exact details of Ahsoka are still under wraps, but it’s sure to live up to the hype and continue the franchise's legacy.

The list also includes subtle details on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Star Wars: Visions—Volume 2, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, and Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic, alongside two other shows that are currently in production and aiming for a 2024 release: Andor season 2 and The Acolyte.
