What Happened to Muzan and Ubuyashiki’s First and Last Encounter in Demon Slayer?
When Muzan appeared before Kagaya and his wife Amane, they had a short but impactful conversation about the conflict between demons and humans.
Kagaya asked Amane what Muzan looked like while Muzan insulted the head of the Demon Slayer Corps with negative remarks about his unfortunate situation.
In addition, Kagaya explained the truth about his progressive illness, the curse related to Muzan, and how no one in their bloodline has lived past the age of 30.
Kagaya also asked about Muzan’s dream of eternity and how he awakened the sleeping tiger and dragon after stepping onto their tails over and over again.
On the other hand, Muzan felt oddly familiar with Ubuyashiki, but he felt relieved and disgusted at the sight of him.
So, Did Muzan Kill Ubuyashiki in Demon Slayer? S4 Ending Explained
Kagaya Ubuyashiki had a remarkable instinct, also referred to as precognition or foresight, a few days prior to Muzan's arrival to take his life.
While most people would prefer to avoid and flee this encounter, Kagaya decided to use himself as a lure and cause serious injuries to Muzan.
Since the other Hashira would not approve of his suicidal plan, he requested Gyomei for assistance.
On the evening of their first and last meeting, the Ubuyashiki family blasted their mansion with tons of explosives to inflict significant damage on Muzan, sacrificing their precious lives in the process to add fuel to the fire.
This means Kagaya refused to die in the hands of Muzan. Instead, he splendidly hid his immense animosity toward the demon king, like a viper coiled within his black gut, proving Muzan wrong that Ubuyashiki is just an ordinary human.
The explosives were mixed with small spikes to increase their effect in the hopes of slowing Muzan’s regenerative abilities as much as possible.
Afterward, a blood demon art that uses seeds of flesh prevented Muzan from moving after its thorns had branched out within his body.
Tamayo then took advantage of this opportunity to get close to Muzan with concealment and inject him with a concoction that could make demons human again.
Gyomei eventually appeared to behead Muzan, but as Kagaya predicted, only the sun could kill the demon king for good.
