In a recent interview with People, Moore opened up about her relationship with Willis today and how they managed to raise their kids together after they divorced.

"For many, many years that was really about not wanting my kids to ever experience certain things that I had. It created a real drive in me to want to look for opportunities to transform and become the best version of myself," she said.

Moore added that she had "a pendulum swing where I didn’t want to burden my children, I never let them see me emotional."

"I really see now how important that is for our children to see us sad and see that we walk through it and get to the other side. It’s okay to be angry and move through it. There’s a lot I’ve learned and some I wish I had figured out sooner, but I also trust that it all happens in its right time," she said.

As for her relationship with Willis today, she is grateful "that regardless of what the outside relationship has been, we have maintained being a family in various forms" and "the foundation of making our children our priority has never wavered."

As fans may already know, Willis has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Moore has regularly visited him since his condition started.

Demi Moore's Recent Oscar Loss

Moore has been in the headlines for the past few months thanks to her major comeback presence throughout the awards season for her acclaimed performance in The Substance.

In another interview, the actress revealed that she knew that she would lose the Oscar for Best Actress to Mikey Madison during the ceremony.

"I leaned over and whispered to my manager, ‘I think it’s going to Mikey.‘ I don’t know why I knew, but I did. I was so centered and calm. I didn’t feel gutted. I didn’t feel any of those kinds of things. I just trusted, and am in trust of, whatever is going to unfold," she said.

While she accepted her loss, Moore also admitted that winning the award would have been meaningful for her. However, her loss has also motivated her to move forward as she embarks on a new chapter of her career.

"The physical, human part that has ego, of course, has disappointment. It certainly would have been wonderful to have won," she said.

"That's the beautiful thing when you really open up to how the universe really works, as opposed to gripping so tight, trying to force things to happen. You really move with the flow."
